On August 22, 2014 I took an oath at the Ambassador’s mansion to serve my country as a PCV, and tomorrow is the exact day my group, Peru 23, officially completes our 27 months of service!

No Sleep Till Peace was started as a personal journal of my adventures in Peru, and surprisingly it has grown into a small community of almost 3,500 followers who have laughed, cried, and supported me and my Peruvian counterparts from afar. Fun fact… outside of the USA and Peru, the next largest group of followers is from Germany!

Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to accompany me through the Peruvian Andes. Thank you for being there…

Finally, thank you for your help this past weekend with the Peace Corps Blog It Home contest. We did it! No Sleep Till Peace was selected as a winner and I will be traveling to D.C. in October to continue sharing the Peruvian culture and my experiences as a Peace Corps Volunteer.

  1. Dear Brooklyn,
Congratulations on winning the PCV Blog Home contest.
I wish this technology had been available when I was in India. I am so proud of you, and
I look forward to…More to come. Melanie
